Social Networking

In its  brief life, the  internet has  been responsible  for  introducing the world to a wide array of buzzwords. Most of these terms have  emanated from the technical, scientific, and academic communities  disseminated through the  media , before merging into the  mainstream and  eventually becoming unuttered cliches.Social networking the  practice of expanding social contacts by making connections through others. It`s rather like concept of six degrees of separation, the  idea that it would be possible for any two people on the planet to make contact through a chain of no more than five five intermediaries. In a similar way, social networking on the  internet enables people to make new and  relevant contacts with those they would  have  been nlikely to have otherwisemet. As per Terry Burrows.

Rss

What is RSS?

RSS is "Really Simple Syndication," a format that web sites use to provide up-to-date information and headlines via a news reader. An RSS feed supplies headlines and brief article summaries, and a link for you to go to the full text. This XML-based format allows you to view news and data feeds from various sources all on your desktop.
How can I use RSS?
You can install a news reader or aggregator that will display RSS feeds from a number of sites; this reader acts as a kind of information portal or news "home page" and will automatically pull up-to-date information. Most news readers are stand-alone programs (you can download a variety of free news readers), although some web sites will allow you to add an RSS feed to a personalized web page.
Once you have installed a news reader, find the RSS feed you want and click on the orange XML button; you will then open up a page filled with code. Copy the URL and paste it into your news reader. You can now view updated headlines and summaries, and click through to the full articles you want to read.

slides

Recently I tried to familiarise my self with computer trying to be  computer literarte I  found  it  also  interesting and challenging to use computer because the  more  you practice to use  it , the more you become familliar with the  technogy, technology is verydifficult as  more especially if  you are not computer literate you must familliarise  your-self with it, keep on  practising  until you master it at a later stage, its part of our course ,we  freequently use  it to find relevant  information in our workplaces.

open access

I  go through the computer and read  about open access this  means  that everybody can  browse and  go through the  information and  is  freely available its not filtered  yet,you can  use  it  anywhere and  at anytime ,there are no boundries. You can share word documents  with other  users on the web,use access to organise  your data into database and access forms  and  reports .It is useful to everybody , this is also a learning curve.
